COURSE CONTENT
· Safe handling and storage of customers artwork, wearing of white gloves where necessary
· Measuring and calculation of size of object.
· Methods for making boxes: Foam Core Board, use of multiple frames to create deep boxes, use of the Tapered Box method, and use of other substrate to make boxes, i.e.. small wooden batons, etc.
· Calculation of and mount cutting to Conservation standard
· Methods of attaching object to backing substrate, i.e.. stitching, use of wire, clips, silicone gel, etc.
· Decoration of backing substrate, in Tapered Box or other box method
· Framing and mounting of item(s), paying particular importance of airspace
·Question, Answers, Problem solving
· Review of Fine Art Trade Guild Mountboard & Framing Standards
